Sweet Tamarind
Category: Thai
Neighborhood: Lakeview
We started off with fried wontons - chicken and shrimp diced together and fried in a wrapper and served with a sweet and sour sauce. Very tasty with a good amount of filling.
For entrees I got the tamarind curry (recommended by the server) and she got a chicken dish with thin rice noodles, chicken, baby corn, straw mushrooms, and a 3 colors of bell peppers. While good, I think it was missing a little something - but may be enjoyed by those who like a more normal noodle dish fare. I must say I loved my curry - chicken, pineapples, onions, tomatoes, and cashews all cooked in a delicious perfectly spiced curry sauce. I usually despise any dish combining a fruit with meat - but this was excellent. Everything came out piping hot, and fast. For both dishes, the appetizer, and one soda was roughly $24 - not bad. In addition they have lunch specials that looked pretty good.
While there ARE a lot of Thai places in this city, I think this should be added to the list of places with, at the very least, great curry.

One of the great things about Dr. Thrash is that much of the logistical stuff can be done online - you can make an appointment, download your new patient forms, and be ready to go once you walk in the office. Being able to do this cut my wait time down to less than 10 minutes. The physicians assistant was kind, and listened to all of my concerns. I waited roughly 10-15 minutes in my gown for the doctor.
They had decided to do a full body check - this is a sign of a good dermatologist people! One that isn't afraid to, I dunno....touch your skin?? She looked me over while making me comfortable with light conversation. She gave me a full report on my two moles - neither one appeared to be cancerous. She also gave me a prescription to try for my adult acne - I thought I had tried everything on the market, but she has me on a topical product I haven't tried before. AND - she gave me samples! I love doctors who give samples. :)
I am very, very glad to have found Dr. Thrash. She offers a high class line of creams and so forth - but she never even mentioned it in the appointment. She wasn't pushy, she was very kind, and clearly knew what she was talking about. I've been to a lot of dermatologists - and Dr. Thrash is definitely top notch.

Apart Pizza Company
Category: Pizza
Neighborhood: North Center
So, now to the good part - the food. The menu is expansive in the number of different kinds of pizza you can get - 11 Italian pies, 13 Signature pies, and 5 sweet dessert pizzas. They also have 8 different salads. I ordered the Capriciosa - ham, mushrooms, and artichokes (only I got bacon instead of ham). The pizza came out and was pretty delightful. The one downside is that the crust is almost too thin in the middle, so that the liquid from the sauce and toppings causes it to be floppy at the tips. However, everything else was great. A nice marinara sauce that doesn't overpower and isn't too sweet, TONS of fresh toppings (thick sliced fresh mushrooms, huge hunks of artichokes), and the perfect amount of cheese (which is great since many places I've gone to drown their pies in globby cheese).
All of this for absolutely incredible prices. Their lunch special of a small pie and a drink for 5 bucks (which can certainly leave the lighter eater with leftovers) is unbeatable. PLUS - even if you miss lunch, they give a free soda with a personal pie!
I would definitely recommend this place. The pizza is great, the prices are fantastic, and it's always good to support a small local business who cares about the community!

The food itself was not bad. The meat was of decent quality, and the sauce was a good hot sauce.
In general the food was good - but it shouldn't have been crammed all together in a small container. For the price you pay, it IS good food. The wasabi slaw salad is definitely worth a try - it isn't painfully hot, but has a nice hint of wasabi underlying the flavor of the slaw. Also, ignore that they call their meat "BBQ style" - that doesn't mean it has Bar-b-que sauce, rather it means that the meat is grilled.

The management is very nice, and even had an appreciation night while we were there - with free drinks! The concierge is helpful, and it is nice having several restaurants attached to the hotel.
If you're looking for a good deal while in Cincy, this is definitely a place to consider.
We ordered the guacamole and salsa as an appetizer. The guac was delish - fresh and light, and full of chunks of avocado. Personally, I like fresh flour chips a lot so I fully enjoyed them. The salsa, while fine, was a bit watery for me. The taquitos, served fried with chicken on the inside were covered in a salsa verde and a small amount of a soft cheese similar to ricotta. These were very tasty, and well cooked.
I ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos. Three small flour tortillas with a fried piece of Mahi Mahi atop a bed of guacamole, topped with shredded cabbage and pico de gallo. The fish was awesome - not greasy, and very flaky and good. The flavors in the taco blended very well, especially after adding a bit of the fresh lime. My dad ordered the chicken tacos, which turned out to be a bit bland. Grilled chicken (which was a bit dry) piled on black bean puree and topped with cheese and pico de gallo. If you order the chicken tacos, be ready to have the hot sauce handy.
The drinks were also good. Great (although NOT large) margaritas, excellent minty sweet (but not too sweet) mojitos. The sangria left something to be desired - the shot of bourbon was not necessary, the glass was small, and it needed more fruit. The drinks were also a bit overpriced for what you get.
The service was quick and nice, and might scare grandma with the tattoos - my favorite kind of waiters. :)
In general, I think Nada is a great place to visit while on vacation, on a night out, or maybe just celebrating the end of the week. The prices make it a "once and a while" but the food makes it a definite "more than once".
